I don't know what to say. Nothing witty, intellectual or structured to offer. Just random tidbits. I'm currently reading Atwood's The Handmaid's Tale. In a few days I'm off to DC for a whirlwind museum tour. The apartment management changed. I'm really excited about October getting here. Also, I'd like to hand it to Kedem Concord 100% Pure Grape Juice.

I love DC, I used to go there every year.
I did my last tour in 1976. This time around I'm going for some of what I missed then.
Reading Handmaid's Tale for the first time, or is this a re-read? I read it in 1988, and have occasionally gone back to re-read portions of it. Great book!
Cheers,
Bruce
p.s. I loved my time in D.C. I'm not sure that I could identify my favorite museum, but there certainly was plenty to choose from. Enjoy! Out of curiosity, what days precisely will you be there?

This is my first time in The Handmaid's Tale. I enjoyed Oryx And Crake last year. I'll be in DC from the 24th through the 1st.
Thanks. I was just curious, on the off-chance that I get away for a few days. Washington, D.C. is an accessible and affordable bus trip for me. While it's not high on the probability list, it has crossed my mind to take a little trip down into the States.
Anyways, if I decide to do Washington, D.C. again, and if our trip times should overlap, I'll let you know. I presume that you'll check your e-mail occasionally while in D.C.?
Cheers,
Bruce
Unless I find a library I won't have any net access up there.
The flowers are beautiful :) At this time only the mums are left blooming as frost cannot be far off now. The leaves continue to change.
Enjoy your trip to DC ... I've never been there. | |
