I'm standing within a vast yearning
The sidewalk tiles begin to flip and rotate on their axes
A new world is being drummed out
Grass breaking through cement

I look down across tarmac under the bellies of illegal alien parrots
No one told them they could not come here

A pineapple floats above my head
Exploding into matrices of perfection
Exploding into aqueducts, bridges and cathedrals
Saying Welcome

I like that, Bill. thanks for sharing it.

Thanks! It's the first poem I've written in quite some time.

Matrices. Very nice.

Have you heard of that book 'Subversive Orthodoxy'?

Thanks! No, tell me about it. I have heard of some other book about 'orthodoxy' which has a title as long as I-10.

Oh, you must be thinking of "Thousand Mile Orthodoxy: Truth for Truckers". Yeah, I wrote that one. Never been a trucker, myself. But I've been a road warrior.

I'll email you an interview with the 'Sub Orth' auth.

Actually I was thinking of this book by Brian D. McLaren:

A GENEROUS ORTHODOXY: Why I Am a Missional, Evangelical, Post/Protestant, Liberal/Conservative, Mystical/Poetic, Biblical, Charismatic/Contemplative, Fundamentalist/Calvinist, Anabaptist/Anglican, Methodist, Catholic, Green, Incarnational, Depressed-yet-Hopeful, Emergent, Unfinished CHRISTIAN

And thanks. I can't wait to read that interview.

The other Bill

Very surreal and cool!

Bill's got his (poetry) groove back!
