Knock Knock!

Knock! Knock!

Here I am.
I'm right outside your door.
I'm a Cotton Candy Shadow
Back from when you were four.
You always step on me when you take your trash out.
Four steps from where you just put your ash out.
This is that. That is this.
I'm sayin' what I'm given.
I'm in equipoise
But my top is still spinnin'.

Am I am a water stain?
A stretched-out mane?
Magic glass in the back half of a primate's brain?
A patch of the last grass?
No let me explain,
I'm the last and sweetest gift
From yesterday's rain.

A gift from a muse
Or brotherhood of man?
By your front door
Is the place that I stand
Dose from a ghost or just a wild man?
An imprint of a presence from another land

This is that. That is this.
I'm sayin' what I'm given.
I'm in equipoise
But my top is still spinnin'.

Two giants standing
In sectioned-off space
Hungarian soakers
Just kicked us out of place
We punch and we cut
Up in a slow race
And we've got this gold thread
To keep us just off pace.

Skew over there
Beneath the Gold Bow
A frosted top
Glass bauble
Spinning Kobold
He's holding the tension
Almost absolving it
He's unpacking and parsing
But just not solving it.

This is that. That is this.
I'm sayin' what I'm given.
I'm in equipoise
But my top is still spinnin'.
